A wide variety of Parelli Natural Horsemanship courses will be offered, providing individuals at all levels of horsemanship skills with information and hands-on exercises to meet their goals. These natural horsemanship camps are designed as "prep schools" for students planning to go on to the Pat Parelli Centers in Colorado and Florida. For students not planning to travel to the Parelli Center, the camps are a wonderful opportunity to concentrate your undivided attention on developing horsemanship skills and savvy, while spending quality time and developing a relationship with your equine partner. Partnership 1 Class - Through the study of Parelli's Seven Games, you will learn to gain your horse's respect and trust. You will learn the safe and savvy way to do everything with horses. We'll cover:
There is no riding in this class. Prerequisites: You will get more from the class if you have at least begun to study either the Parelli Partnership Program, or the Seven Games DVD in the Parelli Success Series (click on the "Shop" tab above to see details of these products). Partnership 2 Class - We'll improve the quality of your Seven Games, and learn to put them to a purpose, using obstacles. We'll continue to teach you to develop a calmer, braver horse. We'll also cover:
Prerequisites: Partnership 1 Class or basic working knowledge of the Seven Games and beginning Parelli Natural Horsemanship concepts. Partnership Assessment Class - Each day we will have a teaching session, then rotate practicing and assessing in small groups. Harmony 1 Class - Pat Parelli calls Harmony the "Fun" level. We'll start developing Positive reflexes in your horse's responses, and Emotional Fitness for the horse and human. We'll learn the essential Savvy Arrows such as:

We will begin to study Fluidity concepts, including Saddle Fit and moving in Harmony with the horse. Prerequisites: Self-assess or official Level 1 Assessment. Harmony 2 Class - We'll continue to study strategies for dealing with different horseanalities. We'll continue to develop on-line transitions, change of direction, backing over a pole, and begin the study of Liberty. Riding sessions will include:
Prerequisites: Self-assess or official Level 1 Assessment. Harmony 3 Class - How little does it take to communicate with your horse in all games?
Riding session will cover:
Prerequisites: Must have taken at least one Harmony 1 or 2 Class or be able to do at least half of the Level 2 Assessment Tasks. Harmony 4 Class - Problem solving on-line transitions, change of direction and sideways. Study Falling Leaf and "S"s on-line. Sideways on a circle. We'll trouble-shoot Liberty and refine transitions and change of direction at the trot. We'll continue to study Fluidity concepts in the saddle.
Prerequisites: Must have taken at least two Harmony Classes (1-3) and/or be able to confidently complete at least 3/4 of the Level 2 Assessment Tasks. Harmony Assessment Class - We'll start each day with a group teaching session, then we'll move on to rotating practice/assessment sessions. Harmony Trail Riding Class - We'll teach safety on the trail. We will do simulations in the morning, and actual trail rides in the afternoon. You can do trail walks if you don't feel comfortable in the saddle. Requirements - Be able to ride in a group at the walk and trot outside the arena. An official or self-assessed Level 1 graduate.
Refinement 3 Class - We will concentrate on the ingredients leading to Collected Flying Lead Changes. We will do preparatory ground work to help get the horse collected mentally, emotionally and physically. In the saddle, we'll improve our basics, and practice the steps that lead to collected simple and flying changes. Even if you are not ready to do lead changes yet, you can practice the proper positions at the walk and trot, so that when you are ready, the changes will happen! |
